Ahşap Teknelerin Boyanması
Ahşap, ilk basit kanolardan günümüz yüksek teknoloji ürünü yarış teknelerine kadar, uzun zamandan beri kullanılan bir tekne yapım malzemesidir.
Ahşap, doğasında organik malzemeler bulunduğundan deniz şartlarında bir kaç farklı probleme maruz kalır. Tahta kurtları, bazı ufak kabuklu böcekler ve küf mantarları ahşabı zamanla yer ve ufak ufak parçalara ayırır. Ahşap, aynı zamanda boya sisteminin yüzeyde tutunmasını güçleştirebilecek kadar çok su emme kapasitesine de sahiptir. Emilen su, ahşabı şişirir ve bazı yapılarda bu durum kalıpların arasındaki boşlukların kapanması açısından faydalı olabilir.
Yukarıda bahsedilenler dolayısıyla ahşap tekneler, korunmaya ihtiyaç duyarlar. Doğru yüzey hazırlığı ve uygun boya uygulaması ile ahşabın doğal güzelliği bahsedilen zararlı etkilerden korunabilir.
Ahşabı korumak için; boya ve vernik olarak hem tek komponentli ve hem de iki komponentli ürünleri kullanmak mümkündür.
Tekne Yapımında Kullanılan Bazı Ahşap Türleri
Meşe (Oak)
Sarımsı kahverengi, yoğun ve içinde bir miktar yağ bulunan sert bir ağaçtır. Sacla teması halinde paslanmaya ve korozyona sebebiyet verir. Omurga, postalar ve iç mahal bölümleme ve panellerinde kullanılır.
Maun (Mahogany) )
Kızıl kahverengi, iyi işlenebilir ve uzun ömre sahip sert bir ağaçtır. Ana bölümlerde ve iç bölümleme ve panellerde kullanılır.
Tik (Teak)
Koyu altın kahverengi, mükemmel uzun ömre sahip, doğal yağlı sert bir ağaçtır. Zımparalarken çıkan tozu, tahriş edicidir. Tekne bölümlemesinde, güvertelerde, iç ve dış bölümleme ve panellerde kullanılır.
Sedir (Cedar)
Pembe kahverengi, orta yoğunlukta, sert bir ağaçtır. Tekne kaplamasında kullanılır.
Kızıl Çam (Larch)
Açık kırmızımsı kahverengi, kolayca eğilebilen, darbeleri emen yumuşak bir ağaçtır. Tekne kaplamasında kullanılır.
Su Kontraplağı (Marine Ply)
Ahşap tabakalarının birbirine yapıştırılmasıyla oluşturulan, oldukça sağlam ve nispeten sert bir yapı malzemesidir. Su kontraplağı, çoğunlukla ufak teknelerin iç bölmelerinde kullanılır.
Ladin (Spruce)
Açık kahverengi renginde, korunmazsa kısa ömürlü, yumuşak bir ağaçtır. Düşük yoğunluklu olup, tekne kaplamasında kullanılır.
Çam (Pine)
Açık kahverengi renginde, korunmazsa kısa ömürlü, yumuşak bir ağaçtır. Orta yoğunlukludur ve genellikle kaplamada kullanılır.
Ahşabın Vernik ve Boyası için Öneriler
Başarılı bir sonkat görüntüsü için yüzeyin önerilen şekilde iyice hazırlandığından emin olunuz.
Tüm etiketleri dikkatle okuyunuz ve tüm uygulama, sağlık ve güvenlik prosedürlerini eksiksiz yerine getiriniz.
Ürünleri kullanmadan önce yeterli kıvama getirene kadar karıştırınız.
Uygulama süresince de ürünü periyodik olarak karıştırmaya devam ediniz.
Uygulama süresince toz kalkmamasına ve yerin ıslak kalmasına dikkat edilmelidir.
Uygun bir kaba, yeterli miktarda boya alınarak uygulama bu miktar ile yapılır. Geriye kalan kısım sıkıca kapatılarak sonraki uygulamaya kalitesi bozulmadan saklanmış olur.
Çoğu kez boyama işleminin iki kişilik ekip halinde yapılması daha kolaydır. Biri uygulamayı yaparken, diğeri çevre şartlarına ve uygulama özelliklerinin iyi olmasına dikkat edebilir.
Uygulama için pek çok farklı metod vardır ve işe başlamadan önce; Uygulama bölümünde yer alan uygulama detaylarını incelemeniz teknenize daha uygun ve kaliteli bir uygulama yapabilmenizi sağlayacaktır.
